Geopipe Wins $1M GENIUS NY Top Honor

Posted by Christopher Mitchell, Ph.D..

Geopipe is proud to announce that we have been awarded the $1M top prize in the GENIUS NY 2020 accelerator competition. This milestone empowers us to advance even faster in our mission to create the authoritative whole-Earth digital twin, built by AI.

GENIUS NY is a year-long in-residence accelerator in Central New York State focused on startups in unmanned systems, IoT and big data. We were selected as one of five finalist teams late last year, and since January 2020 have been building and accelerating in Syracuse, NY. In addition to our current offices in New York, NY and Burlington, VT, we've been building a product team in Central New York, based out of Syracuse's Tech Garden facility.

The culmination of eight months of hard work in Syracuse, $1M GENIUS NY 2020 prize is a decisive validation of Geopipe's vision to make perfect digital twins of the real world, automatically labeled and modeled by algorithms. We allow simulation creators, automotive companies, game developers, architects, and many others to instantly load any area of the real world into virtual space for interaction, simulation, and visualization.

For example, Geopipe makes it possible to train autonomous cars and drones for millions of hours in virtual space before endangering real properties and lives, create immersive games set in the real world, and visualize new real estate projects long before construction begins. We've had the privilege of continuing our rapid growth this year alongside BotsAndUs, DroneSeed, Eget Liber, and Skyy Network, and look forward to our future potential collaboration in Central NY.

We're already turning this fuel into activity: if you're a good fit for our open Senior Deep Learning Engineer or C++ Engineer role, or know someone who should be on our team, please let us know!
